Gather at Stony Point Center at 4 p.m. for a celebration of Jesus' journey into Jerusalem. Through community song and prayer we will remember the tears Jesus shed over the brokenness of the world, the tears we shed today over injustice and oppression, and the power of those tears to cleanse and transform. Our celebration will include a 10 minute walk to the waterside and back to the Center. Please wear comfortable shoes!
During Lent, the Community of Living Traditions has been assembling a “River of Lament” expressed as teardrops of oppression. This river of tears has been growing along the main hallway at Stony Point Center at 17 Cricketown Road. Each teardrop reflects an injustice and oppression that exists in our community and around the world; each teardrop is a prayer.
On Palm Sunday, we will gather our tears and walk to the Cedar Pond Brook where we will remember the tears Jesus shed over the brokenness of the world, and reaffirm the power of those tears to cleanse and transform. As Jesus, on a donkey, walked triumphantly into Jerusalem, we will walk with our “River of Lament” to honor our pain for the world and transform that pain into a river of new life for justice and peace.
