"From indigenous chants, to gospel praise, to instrumental improv...the strains echo in our souls with a particular resonance when we are a part of making music."
This poetic perspective from a recent edition of our monthly e-newsletter speaks well to the wide diversity of groups and people that come to us to "make their own music" and call us "home". Not just for retreats and conferences, Stony Point Center, nestled in the heart of the lower Hudson River Valley, is a unique space of nurture for cultivating, organizing and transforming our world. Our radical hospitality of taking care of the distinctive needs of each guest and guest group comes from both the staff, and the Muslim, Jewish and Christian resident members of the CLT, who also call Stony Point Center, "home".
As you enter Evergreen, our main building on campus, you will often encounter the aroma of deliciously cooked meals, including savory vegetarian and vegan fare. Our friendly staff is waiting to greet you with a welcoming smile and a helping hand to make sure all of the details of your stay are taken care of. You can feel yourself beginning to relax. You then start to consider the possibility of a yoga class in our meditation space, a reflective walk on our labyrinth, or a stroll around the grounds to see all the produce growing on our farm, thanks to our multifaith farm team. Some of that fresh produce may "greet" you on the buffet line at your next meal!
We continue our efforts to renovate and improve our campus for the comfort of our guests. Recently, we have completed air-conditioning in all 90 of our guest rooms, with new energy effficient windows in our Maple Lodge. There is new artwork in our guestrooms and new carpet in some of our meeting spaces. We've also increased our staff to strenghten our work with every guest and guest group in making sure they have an enjoyable stay. Stony Point Center welcomes Lisa Harris as our Guest Services Manager, Anyelina Abreu as our Manager of Rooms, and Cynthia Germana as our Coordinator of Contracts and Billing.
Come enjoy the flowering of Spring with us! Our spring and summer calendar is filling up quickly, so call today for a personal or group reservation, 845-786-5674.
