We recently hosted Center for Family Life's "Life Lines" Community Arts Project, a program of SCO Family of Services. What we heard back made us happy. We thought we'd share it with you.

Dear Linda and Mary (and the entire Stony Point Center team!),

center for family lifeOn behalf of everyone in Center for Family Life's "Life Lines" Community Arts Project, I wanted to extend our deep appreciation to both of you and to everyone at the Stony Point Center for a FANTASTIC weekend, February 15 -17th! You literally came to our aid in the 11th hour when our retreat reservation at the Fresh Air Fund in Fishkill, NY, was canceled due to snow. We found you at 3 pm on Friday and by 9:30 am on Saturday you welcomed our group of 18 teens and 9 staff with open arms. You provided us with a perfect auditorium and seminar rooms allowing us ample space to create dance, theater and music pieces that now form the foundation of our annual improvisational musical that will bring to life the struggles and resilience of our sunset Park neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY. Our youth arrived for this retreat as relative strangers and, through working together in your lovely setting, emerged from the weekend as a strong ensemble "family". We know that the environment of Stony Point Center had a tremendous positive impact on that outcome. Each and every person with whom we interacted was so friendly, supportive and interested in our work. We had fabulous meals that exposed our youth to foods they had never seen or eaten before and we know that this expanded their horizons. (They raved to their friends and parents about the meals!) The dorm-like accommodations made them feel like college students. For many, this was their first time away from home and certainly their first time in a setting like this "in the country". They loved the beautiful winter landscape and especially the fantastic icicle "sculptures".

It was a truly transformative weekend retreat and we are so indebted to you all for making us feel so at home. We hope that some of you may be able to come to Brooklyn to see our full production during the week of May 12 - 16, 2014.

We have submitted your invoice for payment and would be grateful if you could confirm receipt when it arrives.

Attached please find our group photo, with love and deepest appreciation to all of you!

Best regards,
