While many of our guests travelling from New York City find bus transportation the most convenient, Stony Point Center does offer limited transportation to and from the following train stations:

Nanuet

This train station is on the NJ Transit Pascack Valley Line; guests arriving from NYC Penn Station or Newark Airport will need to change at Secaucus.  This involves going up two flights (elevators and escalators are available), then back down one flight; transfer times are frequently under 10 minutes.

Nanuet is our preferred station for connections to Stony Point Center.

Travel time from Nanuet to Stony Point Center is about 25 minutes.

Stony Point Center transportation from Nanuet is provided at no cost to groups of up to 10 guests (who are part of an overnight group) with a 48 hour notice prior to your travel arrangements. A late fee of $25 is charged for travel arrangements made after that time.  The cost for Sojourners is $25 each way from Nanuet.  You can request this transportation by using our transportation request form.
NOTES: If we receive requests for pickups at trains arriving less than 1 hour apart, we may ask guests arriving on the earlier train to wait until the later one arrives.
Our service to/from Nanuet ends with the train scheduled to arrive at 8:34 PM on weekdays, 8:20 PM on weekends.  Guests arriving in Nanuet after that time should plan to use a taxi, ride-sharing service, or arrange for another member of their group to pick them up in Nanuet.
While we understand that arrival trains can change for reasons beyond the guest's control, we do not guarantee transportation from Nanuet for guests arriving at a time other than what has been arranged.  In such cases, we recommend using a taxi or ride-sharing service.

For groups of over 10 using public transportation, we recommend CoachUSA buses from the Port Authority in NYC.  Alternatively, we can arrange a pickup by a car service at your preferred location.

Croton-Harmon

If at all possible, we request that guests from NYC use NJ Transit trains to the Nanuet station, as described above, or buses from the Port Authority Bus Station, which come all the way to Stony Point.

If necessary, however (especially for passengers coming from the direction of Albany), we will make connections at the Croton-Harmon train station.

Trains from this station arrive at Grand Central Station in NYC via Metro North or at Penn Station in NYC via Amtrak (Click links for schedules).

  • Travel time from Croton-Harmon to Stony Point Center is about 45 minutes.

  • Our fee for transportation to/from Stony Point Center is $60 per car (up to 3 passengers), one-way.  (With the advent of ride-sharing services, many of our guests have found this option more cost effective.)

To request a pick-up at either train station by our Transportation Department, please fill out our online Transportation Form at least 48 hours before your arrival; $25 dollars will be charged for late notification.

For other local train stations, larger groups, or other special needs, please email our transportation coordinator at Transportation@StonyPointCenter.org, or call our front desk at 845-786-5674.

Your transportation request will be acknowledged within 24 hours.

Newark Airport (Amtrak) Station or Newark Penn Station

Passengers arriving by train at Newark Airport or Newark Penn Station may use our Airport Transportation Service.   Please note, however, that there may be an additional fee of $25 for a pickup at Newark Penn Station.

Amtrak passengers arriving at either Newark station also have the option of transferring to a NJ Transit commuter train, and changing at Secaucus Junction for the Pascack Valley line, to be picked up at Nanuet (see above).

Please note that transportation from Newark requires 72 hours notice.
