Chelsea deLisser, former Assistant General manager of Stony Point Center, is back and here to serve. deLisser took a short leave as she fully absorbed herself into her new archetype – as a new mother. As she re-emerges from all the diapers and late-night feedings, she is excited to find herself back at the open space of Stony Point Center.
deLisser has a deep-rooted spiritual practice that weaves its way into many aspects of her life. This practice emphasizes celebrating the joy in life, creating the life you want to live, and the importance of service to others. That’s why after college, deLisser found herself working for the nonprofit – City Year. She later paved the way to working at a wellness center; she wore many caps there, but her favorite was developing outreach classes. The classes taught yoga and mindful practices to individuals in local hospitals, senior centers, and shelters. When deLisser was ready for the next chapter of her life, she walked into Stony Point Center because she loved the mission and vision and asked for a job. It just happened that they needed an Assistant General Manager, thus began her adventures at Stony Point Center.
While living her life of service, deLisser has found that self-care is most important. That’s why you might bump into deLisser and her family hiking or backpacking through Harriman State Park. She’s a firm believer that a cup of tea goes a long way in reducing life stresses. You may catch deLisser stretching or doing yoga in her office during your stay at Stony Point Center. You might also find her marveling at the beauty of the world as she walks from one building to another. “There is an elegant essence that each person has and a lesson that they have to teach me. Please join me for a cup of tea, yoga, or marveling at the beauty in the world; it would be an honor to be graced by your presence,” says Chelsea deLisser.
