Community of Living Traditions

The Community of Living Traditions (CLT) is a successful experiment in a multifaith community. CLT was founded in 2009 by Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb, Rabia Harris, Mark Johnson, Kitty, and Rick Ufford-Chase. The idea was to create a residential community of Muslims, Christians and Jews who share a commitment to justice, peace, nonviolence and EarthCare.

Today, CLT is an independent nonprofit organization with 18 members in residence at Stony Point Center. Members of CLT represent greater religious diversity as they have reached beyond the founders’ original three traditions. They are committed to supporting one another in living authentic and faithful lives within each of the represented traditions.

Over the years, many neighbors and guests of Stony Point Center have participated in CLT programming, such as the monthly “Salon Series” here on campus. Currently, CLT offers an online Zoom series that helps participants embrace the new reality of living life during the COVID pandemic – “Living Into the New Normal.”
