Intergenerational Ministry – Creating Ministry That Lasts
March 24-26, 2025
-
Overview
Are you looking to reach younger generations? Are you looking to serve families in a wholistic way? And, importantly, are you looking to have children and families stay engaged as active participants of your congregation for a lifetime?
Well this retreat is for you!
With Rev. Dr. Jason Santos, a subject expert in intergenerational ministry and author of “A Community Called Taize” and co-author of “Intergenerate”), we will dive deep into what we know works to build faith communities that last. From how our minds work, to how ownership and participation is built in communities, we will weave together an understanding of what Intergenerational Ministry is (and isn’t) and gain practical tools for implementing intergenerational practices into our congregations.
Intergenerational ministry is a path and a commitment for a congregation where seeds are planted, nurtured, adapted, experienced and evolved. Engagement of all generations in ministry will create a thriving space for everyone and move you to unified spaces you could not have imagined in your current structures!

Rev. Dr. Jason Brian Santos
Rev. Dr. Brian Santos has spent a lifetime in ministry diving deep into faith practices, how community is formed, and what it means to truly engage all generations in a life of faith. Santos considers himself a scholar as much as a pastor but loves the opportunity pastoral ministry provides him to live out what he learns with a community.
Over the past couple of years he and his congregation have created a hiker’s ministry (his congregation is in Lake City just off the Continental Divide and Colorado Trails) to build community, welcome and faith engagement among this traditionally solo hiking community.
Santos has led countless retreats and training sessions including at the Presbyterian Triennium, the Intergenerate National Conference, and traveled internationally to learn and teach community engagement in faith communities.
