Join Us at the Stony Point Center Labyrinth: June 20, 2025 from 12-1 pm
Labyrinths have been used for centuries by spiritual seekers and deeply faithful people. We will be gathering at the labyrinth on the summer solstice to invite you to find centering in your life and hopefully some clarity of purpose during these uncertain times.
Labyrinths are not mazes. In a maze, you search for the way out, while in a labyrinth, the goal is to center. There is just one path in for you to gently let go of the stress you are carrying. A center to open yourself to inspiration. And the same path to lead you out and provide you time to integrate any inspiration you experienced in the center into your thoughts and commitments.
June 20th is the summer solstice. Summer and winter solstices as well as the equinox are times of planetary change and represent an opportunity to reflect on the changes in ourselves and the world around us. This is the day the sun is the highest over the northern hemisphere. We invite you to this day of max sun to enjoy our space for the first time or the 100th time.
We will be honoring the daylight at Stony Point Center from 12-1pm (Park in the main lot at 17 Cricketown Rd and follow signs to the labyrinth). If you would rather a candle lit labyrinth experience, New Hempstead Presbyterian Church located at 484 New Hempstead Rd, New City, NY will be offering an indoor experience from 8-9 pm.
Whether you attend or not, we hope that you find time to care for your soul when the world feels especially heavy. Stony Point Center is here for you as we work to gear up our trainings and support of those engaged in the social justice needs of the collective and those most under threat by the actions of the current US administration.
We all have a part to play but remember that the journey to “bend the arc of the moral universe towards justice” is long and we need to care for ourselves so we can continue to care for others.
