Homelessness to Housing: A Justice Summit
November 3-6, 2025 | In-person & Online at Stony Point Center
-
Overview
The housing crisis in America is growing and the call for meaningful action has never been louder. This November, Stony Point Center will be hosting “Homelessness to Housing: A Justice Summit”, a powerful 3-day gathering of faith leaders, non-profits, advocates, and grassroots organizers working to understand, confront, and transform the systemic conditions that fuel homelessness and housing insecurity.
This year, we’ll explore acts of mercy, advocacy, and innovative solutions like “Yes in God’s Backyard” (YIGBY), all with the intent of helping us care more effectively for our unhoused neighbors. Together, we’ll lay the foundation for building pathways to stable, affordable housing and driving long-term policy and community change. Through keynotes, workshops, and collaborative cohorts, participants will leave with actionable tools and a network of allies committed to housing justice.
What to Expect:
- Inspiring Keynotes & Practical Workshops featuring faith-based and secular leaders working on the frontlines of housing justice.
- Featured Speakers include Kevin Nye, author of ‘Grace Will Lead Us Home’; Aaron Horner, housing justice advocate of AMH Services; and other advocates addressing both systemic and grassroots solutions.
- Toolkits & Cohorts to support local action with customized digital resources and peer-based learning groups.
- Post-Event Online Gatherings to continue building community, reflect on progress, and translate learning into action.
Whether you’re just beginning this work or deep into the push for housing justice, this summit is designed to meet you where you are and equip you to go further.
Who Should Attend:
Faith leaders*, nonprofit professionals, grassroots organizers, and anyone ready to take meaningful action.
*Congregations are strongly encouraged to send both ordained and lay participants to seed a local action team.
You’ll Leave With:
- A deeper understanding of the root causes and scale of the housing crisis
- Proven models of collaboration and community-based solutions
- A digital toolkit of actionable resources and connections
- A national network of peers committed to this work
- The energy and support to turn learning into lasting justice
Stony Point Center remains committed to fostering ongoing conversations and equipping individuals and communities to make meaningful change.

Featuring leadership from:
Kevin Nye is a writer, speaker, and housing-justice advocate focused on ending homelessness through evidence-based practice and community partnership. He serves as Housing Director at YouthLink in Minneapolis, leading initiatives that connect youth experiencing homelessness to stable housing and supportive services.
Trained for ministry and a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary, Kevin’s vocational path shifted when he did not pursue ordination, redirecting his calling toward advocacy and direct service with unhoused adults, youth, and families. He began frontline work at The Center in Hollywood, where he moved from wellness facilitator to program leadership, shaping a model of hospitality that prioritized safety, dignity, and belonging. That hands-on experience continues to inform his policy perspective and public voice.
Kevin is the author of Grace Can Lead Us Home: A Christian Call to End Homelessness (2022), which weaves theology, data, and storytelling to challenge common myths and mobilize communities of faith toward housing-first solutions. His writing has appeared in outlets such as Religion News Service, Sojourners, and Red Letter Christians, and he has presented at national gatherings including the Housing First Partners Conference. He also publishes the newsletter Who Is My Neighbor?, engaging readers on topics like harm reduction, NIMBYism, and the moral imagination required to end homelessness.
Beyond the page, Kevin frequently teaches and preaches across the country, inviting congregations and community groups to see unhoused neighbors as part of the community and to support policies that actually work. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife and two young sons.
Kevin’s new book, Hope for the Mission: Getting it Right in the Call to End Homelessness, releases on February 3, 2026 and is available for pre-order now!
Aaron Horner is a pastor, nonprofit founder, and housing justice advocate working full-time through his agency, AMH Services LLC, to design and implement sustainable, housing-first solutions for unhoused and extremely low-income communities. His approach blends lived experience, hands-on outreach, and a belief in the power of collaboration to create real, lasting change.
Raised in Hayward, California, Aaron was the Co-Executive Director of Soulciety in 2009, a nonprofit that empowered over a thousand system-involved youth in the Eden Area with life skills and job training through innovative internship programs. He later served for seven years as a pastor at CrossWinds Church in Livermore, leading youth, small group, men’s, and community outreach ministries.
Aaron’s calling to work directly with unhoused neighbors deepened during his time with First Presbyterian Church of Hayward, where he launched and pastored StackLife, a faith community born out of a shelter that connected with people where they were—whether in transitional housing or on the street. His leadership was recognized with The Freestarter Award for innovative, compassionate responses to community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today, through AMH Services, Aaron partners with local and national stakeholders to build humanizing, long-term housing solutions that are scalable and rooted in dignity. Whether developing micro-living projects, raising chickens or advocating for policy change, Aaron’s mission remains the same: to move toward solutions together and ensure everyone has a safe place to call home.
